“I know. It’s
uncanny,” said Christine. She reached out and held his hand as they strolled
through the park. “Tell me, what’s your favorite cereal?”
Tyler’s heart
beat hard when he felt her touch. “I’d have to say… Honey Comb.”
“Me too!”
“No way!” he
said. “Okay, what’s your favorite movie?”
She answered
without hesitation. “Definitely Clash
of the Titans, and not the remake.”
Tyler stopped in
his tracks. “That’s my favorite
movie. Always has been. This is unbelievable!”
“Okay, I’ve got
one,” she said, bouncing with glee. “Who’s your favorite President?”
Tyler faced her
and took her other hand, too. “Without a doubt, Woodrow Wilson.”
Christine’s face
dropped. “Oh, really? Well, um… mine is Andrew Jackson.”
“Ah… I see.”
Tyler let go of her hands. He didn’t know what else to say.
The rest of the
date was very awkward for both.
